AC/DC - the main explanation for the name, was that the members got it off an electronic product, AC meaning alternating current, DC meaning Direct Current. It all started off with these 5 members: Bon Scott - Vocals Brothers; Angus Young - Lead Guitar and Malcolm Young - Guitar Mark Evans - Bass Phil Rudd - Drums The band was formed in Australia in 1973, Malcolm and Angus started off, then got Mark to join and play bass. Bon joined and played drums, but there were problems getting a vocalist, so the boys convinced Bon to do the vocals instead, and got Phil to do the drums. (and a fine job Bon did) Angus and Malcolm being born in Glasgow, Scotland, moved to Sydney, Australia early in their lives, Bon was born in Scotland. Phil and Mark were born in Australia. AC/DC became a fairly popular band in Sydney, Bon became very comfortable doing the vocals, and the band was on a rise, as they released their album "High Voltage".
