A-natural: A few years back when I was in college, a group of friends and I went to a little storefront church in Queens. The service was wonderful. The praise and worship was high. After the sermon, the pastor called me out saying he had a word from God for me. Never knowing me or even my profession, he told me that in all of my future success and all of my accomplishments, do not forget God. At first, I was a bit defensive. I thought, How could that happen? Im a gospel singer! And no sooner had the thought completed itself before he explained that even the most dedicated gospel singer can put the gift before the giver. He said that in order for any of my success to matter, God would need to get the glory FIRST and that my only job was to allow Him to lead me on the path to that success.
