ARTICLE BY CITY CROW MAGAZINE The story of Windsor's "sonically rich and melodically driven" band 8ight Past Nine starts in September 2005 with two sets of best friends. "We've been best friends since highschool", says songwriter/lead vocalist and guitarist Will Hawksworth of Kevin Jarvis (also songwriter/lead vocalist and guitarist). "We've always been close. My old man taught me how to play guitar and I showed Kevin a couple chords. Next thing you know, we were writing songs together." Finding members who share a musical vision is always difficult when forming a band, especially in a border town known more for its Pontiacs than its percussionists. Fortunately, Hawksworth says he and Jarvis already had a mutual friend in mind. "Our drummer, Ken Money$$, has been a very close friend of ours forever", he explains.
